Victoria Apanasenko, Miss Ukraine, unveiled the attire she’ll don at the Miss Universe 2023 contest, saying it represents “the war that Ukraine is waging against darkness.”
Apanasenko, who called the garment the “Warrior of Light Costume,” posted a photo of herself wearing it on her official Instagram account, according to the British publication “The Independent.” Whereas the application’s users gave the publishing high marks.
Large blue and gold wings that resemble those on the Ukrainian flag emerge from a white dress with golden decorations that serves as the outfit.
Apanasenko might be seen in the image wielding a sword and donning a headpiece with wheat ears on it.
The costume worn by the warrior of light symbolizes our country’s struggle against darkness, Miss Ukraine wrote in response to the image. He guards us and defends Ukraine with a sword like an angel.
The costume “was designed in Ukraine in four months under difficult circumstances, to the sound of sirens, and by candlelight amid power shortages,” the journal noted.
The dress was lauded by users of the “Instagram” app, who called it “beautiful,” and they wished Apanasenko well in the Miss Universe competition, which will take place in the American city of New Orleans on January 14.
The competition will also feature Miss Russia, Anna Lennikova, who debuted her outfit, which represents the “crown of the Russian Empire.”
